Maines Paper & Food Service Warehouse Manager- Conklin, NY in Conklin, New York
Maines Paper & Food Service is seeking a Warehouse Manager to be responsible for the oversight of day-to-day operations within the warehouse. This position ensures proper staffing for all shifts to meet customer demands. The Warehouse Manager has overarching responsibility for housekeeping/sanitation of facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for all aspects of the operation: receiving, selecting, checking, loading, stocking, shipping, warehouse sanitation.
- Oversee installation of equipment and supplies.
- Ensure clean and safe operation of the warehouse.
- Ensure all equipment is repaired properly and safe to operate.
- Work with all supervisors to ensure all policies and procedures are followed.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Manage department personnel including but not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Responsible for all activities and problems of satellite buildings.
- Takes a safety leadership role including minimizing lost time for injuries.
- Ensure product accessibility, excellent conditions of property and equipment, and errorless loads.
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, and SKILLS:

Demonstrated organizational skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to present to individuals or large groups. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Attention to detail and accuracy with commitment to meeting deadlines. Should possess good computer skills (MS Office Suite) and AS400. Ability to calculate figures using strong math skills. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Possess knowledge of driver safety and DOT compliance requirements. Ability to motivate and develop employees.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five (5) years' experience in warehouse operations or related role with a minimum of two (2) years in a supervisory capacity; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Food industry and/or distribution experience preferred.

This position supervises Warehouse Supervisors, Warehouse Leads, Training Instructor, Loading Supervisor, Battery Maintenance, Forklift Operators, Handlers, Loaders, Selectors, Intonights, Pallet Workers, Receivers, Sanitation Workers, Waive Planners, Shipping Clerk, and Receiving Clerk.
