Lockheed Martin Systems Architect Sr Stf in Owego, New York

Lockheed Martin is looking for an experienced systems engineer/architect supporting RMS New Business and research and development pursuits in the area of fixed and rotary wing cockpit modernization programs.

This role is a key technical position within the RMS CSAT and Sikorsky lines of business. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to lead engineers across discipline boundaries to achieve technical solutions to our customer's obsolescence and modernization concerns. A background or experience with any of the following are considered pluses:

  • Systems Engineering Management / Program Management
  • Technical Project Management
  • Any involvement in open Architecture (OA) initiatives, such as Functional Architecture for STrategic Reuse (FASTR), Future Airborne Capabilities Environment (FACE), and Hardware Open Systems Technologies (HOST)
  • Implementing OA standards and processes for functional architectures and software and hardware reference architectures
  • Developing product line strategies and roadmaps
  • Leading programs in adopting roadmaps and architectures
  • Familiarity with both foreign and domestic aircraft and the various customer stakeholders.

The initial focus area for this position will be Sikorsky rotary wing platforms such as the Blackhawk helicopter, as well was fixed wing platforms such as the C-130H.

Basic Qualifications Experience with the design integration and test of avionics systems and software operational programs.

Creativity and innovation, good verbal/writing skills, customer rapport, demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Desired skills Experience working on agile programs, utilizing RMS agile best practices and tools such as Jira.

Experience with the design and integration of avionics (e.g. navigation, communication systems, radar, electronic warfare, computing systems and antisubmarine warfare) systems.

Experience with common product lines, common mission systems, or similar initiatives.
